BASIC Workshop on World AIDS Day 2011

BASIC 2011 was a two-day event held in Delhi to create awareness on HIV & AIDS and raise fund to support Tabitha home. Various artists and social workers lent their support to make the event successful. The first day i.e., 1st December 2011 had an interactive session and awareness information given by Dr. Savita Doumai from EHA. Mundrika from Delhi network of people living with HIV shared her testimony and challenges faced by people who are infected and affected by HIV & AIDS. BASIC team took the audience through a brief presentation on Tabitha Home and initiated a dialogue on challenges and solutions in regard to many issues of HIV & AIDS and PLHIVs. During the second part of the day 1 a musical concert was conducted with various known artists.

The second part of the awareness and fund raising event was conducted on 3rd December 2011. There was a screening of two well-known documentary films – Mr. India and Lite thy light.  After the screening BASIC team engage the participants in a short discussion on challenges and solutions in regard to many issues of HIV & AIDS and PLHIVs. A brief presentation on Tabitha Home was also conducted by the team. An exciting musical evening followed. Various artists and singers especially from the Northeast region of India performed and shared encouraging message with the participants.
